Jan Shultis is an author and photographer who captures words, images, and video that celebrate God in the world around us.
A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, Jan spent 13 years in uniform in both the active duty and reserve force. She considers a deployment to Afghanistan working in detention operations and the rule of law, and time teaching leadership and ethics for the Navy Leadership and Ethics Center, part of the Naval War College, as her most impactful military tours.
Upon return from Afghanistan Jan was called to establish The Xena Project, a warrior-run organization that facilitates mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being for veterans, law enforcement, first responders, and families. A recognized subject matter expert in a wide array of topics, Jan teaches in person and online . She continues to write. Her second book, He Prepared a Worm: How God Uses Animals to Reach Us, was released in January 2020; click here to view the book.
